HairBuster Comb - DeShedding Tool for Small Pets
Share:
HairBuster™ This is a BinkyBunny favorite! Woohoo, no more Khaa choo! This really is a very unique comb that gets the job done . We've had ours for over 5 years and it looks as good as new and works just as well as the day we got it. We used many kinds of combs and brushes over the years, (slickers, rubber combs, grooming gloves, Furminator) and The Patented HairBuster™ comb is our personal favorite. It controls shedding as it effectively grips and removes loose, dead and tangled hair from thin to thick undercoats without scratching or harming your pet's skin. It also doesn't over-groom like some brush/comb can. Rabbits molt about four times per year.
Some rabbits molt heavily (explosion molt) that takes less than a week, while other molt slowly over a few weeks. There are also some bunnies that do a light shedding, it seems, throughout the year. The HairBuster™ comb handles it all.
Each HairBuster™ comb is constructed with rounded tip tines for your pet's comfort. The tine spacing and/or tine length safely reach your pet's undercoat. The tines, in combination with the color sleeve, gently lift, grip, and remove the loose hair and dander. As grooming continues, loose hair is stored in the sleeve and removed by brushing the hair off the tines or removing the sleeve to rinse.
Additionally, rounded tines gently massage your pets skin, and in addition the friction between the sleeve and the hair, helps to stimulate the fatty acids to transfer into the coat, which makes your pet look shiny. The tines and the sleeve are design to lift-up, grip, store and removes tiny loose, dead, and tangled hair that beads between the healthy hairs from the skin up to the surface coat. It breaks up and removes light hair mats.
(Comb sideways with hair keeping the tines horizontal) Manufactured out of the highest quality, longest lasting quality carbon brass nickel steel.
Chrome plated. Comfort formed wooden handle, heavily lacquered, easy to grip. Long lasting removable purple sleeve that is woven within the tines for an optimum storage and removal of fine, loose, dead, and tangled pet hair. Rounded tine ends to avoid scratching and harming of the pet's skin.
NOTE:
- May not work as well on Long-haired bunnies as it may pull - handle with care. Rex bunnies may have different experiences with this as well due to their short thick curly fur. Some seems to do fine with and others it doesn't get enough or causes pulling.

minus 2 stars bc I wish it was an option to just buy the rubber piece. They only last a few years and then i need to replace a perfectly good comb when all i need is a replacement rubber piece. It works great on all my buns except the very dense fur on my mini rex.
Hi Debbie, thank you for your feedback! We appreciate your suggestion about replacement rubber pieces and will look into this!
gets the heavy fur out
I have tried so many brushes. de-shedding brushes for dogs. 15 hundred cat brushes. Combs. hand glove brushes. using my fingers to pick loose fur. Pretty much everything I swear. But this. This comb is God's gift. I've never had a more effective brush/comb for bunnies in my ten years of having bunnies. 100/10 recommend. magic.
I love these combs. They work so good on my bunnies. They are really a big help with getting those shedding hairs out without having to pull or tug. :) I recommend these combs for bunnies, cats and I even use it on my Yorkie. :)
The HairBuster works well — our buns tolerate but don’t LOVE it. It took a while to get here but it’s a very good tool and we’re happy with it.
This is an awesome brush for getting the undercoat when they’re shedding. It works great on my lop rabbits doesn’t irritate the skin.
It is on of the best brushes out there
I have a fuzzy lop that sheds, she sheds alot! This is the first comb that has been able to manage her beautiful coat, somewhat time consuming to thoroughly clean ( removing the entwined rubber guard and then re inserting) but other that that, this is an amazing grooming tool~
Highly recommend.
None of the pet store combs or brushes that I’ve tried were comfortable enough for the bunny that she didn’t run away, or were so soft as to be ineffective. I confess I was skeptical about this but it works!
I read that to use this comb, lay it flat and gently go with the hair growth. It picks up hair, gently, and the bunny will sit still and eat her treat while I comb. It doesn’t get gobs of hair at once, though since she’s being cooperative I can take my time, and remove a lot of hair over the course of a grooming session.
This tool is helpful removing fur, but honestly I get more done just using my bare hands in a petting plucking motion. I still use it in combination.
my rabbit hates this comb the teeth are too sharp when i try and use its she runs off or jumps out of the way.the comb does work well but the teeth need to be rounded a bit
First I have to say I bought this for a dog not a rabbit. She has super fine hair and gets a very thick undercoat in the winter. This comb is working great. It will remove even her super fine hair and an added bonus is that the hair stays in the comb. I used to always comb her outdoors because of all the hair that would be flying around in the air. I don't think I'll be able to use this on the longer hair on her tail and petticoats coats at the backs of her legs but still it's a great comb and I'm thrilled I brought it.
I have a different brush I use all the time , but when I used it with that brush I got double the hair - more that just my first brush. I will continue to use it together on my semi long hired rabbit but it is too rough on my short hared rabbit.
We purchased another highly recommended moulting brush, but this comb allows us much more control over all that hair. There’s no hair flying all over the place, and it peels off the comb easily. So glad we bought this!
My vet recommended this great comb for my bunny. It is do much more effective than the other brush I had purchased. It helps keep my bunnies coat healthy!
We have lionhead mini lops and they have longish hair. But this doesn't seem like it is getting much hair so far. I'll see if it changes when they start molting.
There's really no better comb for a bunny. Don't just think about buying this, just add it to your cart. "But Krista, I think the comb I have it home is doing a good job, do I need this?" Absolutely. When you see how much fur comes off your bun, you won't go back.
Great comb! This is my favorite comb ever, also this was the cheapest I could find, small pet select sells it for 19.99
Oliver's coat was rough and full of patches of undercoat that showed through. We had long brush sessions, which he loves, but I worried about him ingesting too much hair.
The hair buster comb is magic! It pulls out a lot more hair. Oliver took a minute to get used to it, but he is back to his normal glossy self much quicker.
It was cheaper than any other source I found online.
I have been looking for a brush to help with my rex’s molting, and this is perfect! With occasional brushing everyday for a week he is looking super handsome again!
I love this comb. It takes out the loose fur without damaging Patsy's velvety coat. She is a mini Rex and her coat is magnificent. She sits on my lap and just "chills" while I groom her. No worries about hurting her with the HairBuster like some of the more aggressive ones out there.
It is amazing. This brush works amazingly on our cinnamon bunny. We love it!
This is the first comb that I’ve got for my bunny and I really like it so far. I’ve seen some people get lots of fur from their bunnies but I usually only get a bit. My bunny is still young so maybe she hasn’t grown a tone of fur yet
This comb glides through my bun's black fur and picks up the fluffy grey fur she sheds (or attempts to shed). It's very effective.
Only grooming tool that has worked for my lion head. Nothing works better and I tried them all...expensive shedding rake, comb, small wire brush! My rabbit vet uses it too!
In theory, this comb works well. In practice, not so much. Yes, it will "grab" the loose hair/ fur, which then collects on the comb for easy removal. Unfortunately, it grabs fur that is still attached just as often as loose hair. My mini Rex runs when he sees it. The three times I've used it, I could see his skin twitching as his fur was pulled out. Don't recommend.
I've spent so much $$$ on different hair brushes before, but this is BY FAR, the best one I've ever purchased. So much hair comes out and it keeps the hairballs down. I no longer find hair all in my food bowls, and in every nook and cranny in the house. The cleaning has been so much easier, and not to mention this is good for my buns health. It helps prevent from GI Stasis, because they're less prone to a blockage, AND they won't have those poop ornaments.
I bought this comb based on a couple of videos. It is a well made comb but it doesn't work well on my rabbits fur. My rabbit has thin short silky fur. I DON'T BLAME THE PRODUCT!!! It's a well made comb. My rabbit just has very thin short silky fur.
I heard about the Hair Buster on my favorite rabbit YouTube channel and ordered one for my rabbit because all the Combs and brushes I've used either don't do the job or my rabbit doesn't like. The Hair Buster is both efficient and easy to use. Also, my rabbit actually likes being groomed now! She just settles down while I easily get all the loose fur from her coat with the comb.
When used properly (teeth almost parallel to skin), it is fantastic for getting the rabbits groomed. Much better than even the Furminator that I used for years and no flying fur while you groom! It's so easy and pleasant that the bunnies get brushed much more often as well!
I tried a number of combs and brushes for my Holland Lop Bunny with not very good results. The Hair Buster comb is the best I have ever used, I highly recommend it. My bunny likes it so much she grooms my face while I comb her.
