Young Oat is meant for bunnies a year and older due to the seeds being a bit harder than Mature Oat. 1st Cutting (early Harvest) Younger Oat is mostly green, however, if it is later in the year can change the color to a more brown color - season factors can change this and make younger oat more brown. It is not mature oat when it is brown. It was cut earlier and flavor is same. Young Oat can change to a more brown through the season before the next harvest. Weather issues can also make Young Oat browner.
Ever since I started giving this to my bunny Bailey, her sensitive digestive system has improved. She eats more hay than ever! This is great for bunnies going through a molt. Encouraging them to eat hay will help them keep the hair moving through their digestive tract.. People who are allergic to grass hays may find Oat a better alternative. Guaranteed freshness and pesticide free! Mini bales are perfect to mix and match with our other hays. Easy to store until you're ready to open.
Guaranteed freshness, dye free and pesticide free! Don't be fooled by other mini-bales now being sold at pet stores. Compare the hay quality and the weights of these mini-bales against the ones in the store. These mini-bales pack in more the buck!
NOTE:
IF ITEM IS IN "PRE-ORDER"MODE: THAT MEANS THAT WE WILL BE GETTING HAY WITHIN A WEEK, so you can still order but the shipping of your entire order may delayed a few days. (just depends how close you order to when we pick up and that varies week to week). IF YOU WANT THE OTHER ITEMS SOONER, THEN ORDER THEM SEPARATELY
Young Oat is meant for bunnies a year and older. The younger harder seed heads are more difficult for bunnies under a year to digest.. Oat's high fiber and sweeter taste is a favorite with bunnies. A great companion hay to mix in with others. Perfect for rabbits that snub their noses up at all other hays, or just a perfect way to mix in a little variety.
The photo of hay expanded is of Mature Oat for size reference only. About all of the super compressed mini bales we sell Hays are brought directly from the field to our supplier's sealed air conditioned facilities to assure its freshness and to assure it isn't exposed to rodents or birds as barn stored hay can be.
I know it says to give to buns a year or older, but my lionhead is 8 months old and going through his first molt. I unwrapped this bale and literally just plopped it down in his area. He loves sitting near it and munching away! He has other hay available as well, but this has definitely become a favorite!

I have looked all over and purchased hay from all the well known company's as well as the smaller businesses like this one to find a hay my picky bunny will eat. The closest I got was Small Pet Selects Oat hay, but he only likes the oats, not the hay... He liked their organic hay but they stopped selling it. He won't touch any other hay, until now. He doesn't just eat the oats in this bale, he is eating the actual hay stalks, too. Even the thick ones. The smell of this hay has more of a hay smell that I smell around horse farms rather then a grassy smell from a lot of other company's. Maybe that's the difference. Plus, it's organic! I think my bun will only eat organic. Lol! Thank you so much, Binky Bunny! I hope you sell Timothy hay someday so I can hopefully find one he will like in that flavor. If your bun is picky, give this a try! 18 companies later, and this is his fave.

Tasty Hay
My 11 year old bunny is not a big hay eater. He seems to love eating this oat hay so it makes me very happy. I will continue to buy it for him to keep him healthy.

Great For Picky Bunnies!
All four of my bunnies love this hay! I adopted two of my bunnies when they were three months old, and now that they're older, I've been having a hard time getting them to phase out of their alfalfa, but this hay has helped a lot! They even choose to eat it over their alfalfa.

Great For Picky Bunnies!
My bunnies are super picky, and they love this hay. I've been trying to find a hay that they'll eat other than alfalfa (they're at that age where they need to phase out), and this does the trick!
NOTE: Hay is a natural product. The same variety of hay can vary in courseness, color and length by season.
Hay is extremely important for a bunny’s digestive system. Always have it available. My bunnies eat more hay when they have a variety of hays.
Hay Tip – A great trick that encourages more hay consumption is add a little fresh hay on top of the existing hay, or take the hay that has been sitting there all day, put in back in the bag, mix it around and grab a new big handful. I don’t know why this works – maybe the fresh scent of hay being resurfaced – For some reason this entices them to eat more, even though they still had plenty of hay in their rack.
