Common question: Can I feed this to my young rabbit?

We contacted Oxbow directly and their advice was that it is best to stay with Essentials Young, but they did not believe it would have a negative effect on the little one's health and well being.  Just make sure you feed the pellets free choice and it would be good to supplement with loose alfalfa in addition to free choice hays. 

When switching from another type/brand of pellet: Be sure to keep your old pellet so you can gradually switch.  Instructions will be on the package, but just so you know, the switchover will take a few weeks.

FEEDING INSTRUCTIONS:

• Adult (over 1 year)
• 1-4 lbs: 1/8 cup
• 4-8 lbs: 1/4 - 1/3 cup
• 8-10 lbs: 1/3 – 1/2 cup
• 10+ lbs: 3/4 cup

Feed in addition to unlimited grass hay.
